The ubiquitous taxi proves a cumbersome and blatant method of design cost-cutting. Instead of roving from place to place, you take a taxi, and your list of destinations is limited by characters you've talked to or by the fliers you've read.

As reckoned by Konami, Plan 9 could supply beginning and intermediate players with sufficient challenge. Anyone who's seen the movie in all its tragic pretentiousness would enjoy the game. But most younger gamers probably haven't seen it; neither have most adults. Does a quest to find six reels of film set your heart aflutter? Yet like with the interface it gets annoying. There's no speech and extremely little sound effects the first one should be a cough, but sounds more like a stomp.

Heck, it even works in WinXP. All in all this game would not be worth playing and I'd consider it crap, if it weren't based on the worst film ever. So you can say the game is being true to the movie So if you're a fan of weirdness or Ed Wood, then you should definitely try this game.

Otherwise you should better go and play a decent adventure instead. The game will ask you for copy protection. The answers are in the extras, but several are missing. Just keep restarting the game until it asks you for one you have the answer.

To be able to enjoy the game, you have to know at least some basic things about the film: It was made in by the director Edward Wood there is a tribute movie about him from the mids titled Ed Wood who has been responsible for a few other productions of similar 'quality' and - in his last years - some extremely cheap softporn movies in which he even played the lead himself.

Plan 9 has become his most famous work though. During the shoot, Lugosi died. Instead of re-shooting the scenes he was in, another 'actor' in fact, it was the producer's wife's chiropractor took over the role. Since he didn't look like Lugosi at all , he held his cape in front of his face the entire movie! The story is supposed to be some kind of sci-fi-horror thriller about aliens who want to destroy earth in order to stop humans to develop some bomb which would presumably have some fatal effect on space.
