I mean, if its not causing any problems, then why do you want to remove it? I have installed a firewall software on a users machine. The Icon for the software appears on the taskbar. I do not want the user to know that I have installed a firewall software. I want the Icon of this software to stop appearing on the taskbar.

Agreed flashing icons on the taskbar can be annoying! Depending on how the application handles notifications the following may help. Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar and select Taskbar Settings.
Scroll down to the "Show badges on taskbar buttons' setting and disable it. Note, I would recommend to only make registry changes if you're comfortable using regedit.
