Joined Nov 5, Messages On the whole I've been enjoying Vista with some exceptions: One of these is the Vista search utility. I frequently do extended copies for groups of files, and there will be a hangup on one or two of the files.

Vist allows me to keep on doing the transfer but skip the file, which I have to find later if I want to copy it. So I'll have one external drive with say 57, files and the new drive with 57, files. The indexing processes are used to create the index, but not to access it. In normal operation, retrieving search results from even a very large index should take no more than a few seconds.

Outlook add-ins, for example, can dramatically slow down the program, and because Outlook runs as a child process of Explorer.
