Windows 7 slow startup norton 360
After instalattion of the patch my startup time ranges from 2 minutes to 2 minutes 30 seconds. Is there anything I can do to speed things up? Thanks for your help! I have the same question 0. Dick Evans Guru Norton Fighter Reg: Apr Hi, Have you rebooted since the last time you ran live update?
Keep us posted. Hello, Yes, I have rebooted since installing the patch I would estimate about 6 times. Ispalten, I have followed the link given and have seen the error message and warning messages about shutdown performance monitoring.
I couldn't understand how to overcome this problem by google the event. Here I am giving snap of the event viewer and the properties of the event. Uh, do you see the shutdown time there? I have hardly any errors, mostly boot 's. The few I do have show 15 to 20 seconds Faster that real mode, it would then be a problem with a driver or the network.
Again see how it shuts down If all the above still takes a long time, boot as above with non-MS items disabled. Now open Task Manager. Still slow, repeat with others killed. Fast, it was one of the ones you killed. Cut those killed in half do 6 or so at a time to speed the process up of determining 'who' and try again. Report back results Hi spalten, I booted into safe mode, it is taking long time as before.
And I done a clean boot by disabling the Non-MS entries. Still the problem exists. Thirdly I ended some of the process listed in the task manager, and I noticed the shutdown time in the event viewer, it is 33 seconds. I am not able to kill the process csrss. I am giving the images of processess in safe mode and in normal startup respectively. Nothing there I don't know as 'normal'. DWM is also a windows function. It may be futile if they exit first though?
I have not tried this so don't know if it will work? First the non-MS ones, see what happens Use the MSConfig utility to remove unnecessary programs and services from the startup process. Click the Start button, type "msconfig" and press "Enter.
Your changes will take effect the next time you boot your computer. If your computer does not meet the minimum hardware requirements required to run Norton , the program may load very slowly — or it might not start at all. Norton requires that your computer has a 1-GHz processor if you are running Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 on your computer.
Norton will load and perform more quickly if your computer exceeds the minimum requirements. Removing Windows temporary files can increase Norton 's loading speed. Windows is constantly writing files to your hard drive and it will leave old temporary files sitting on your hard drive unless you clean them up.
