Because there is no waiting list for the dental hygiene program at Cerritos College, any applicants not accepted must reapply the following year. Also, many students use the time to gain experience working at a job in the dental field. Students may also take additional classes to have more units completed before reapplying the following year. CPR certification is also required, so taking an American Heart Association course can be taken at any time. This is just for the units taken.

But keep in mind, there are scholarships, grants, and other financial assistance available. The Financial Aid office at Cerritos College will be able to help you navigate the financial aspects of the dental hygiene program. Knowing what skills you need, what education, and what kind of day to day job they do, will help you understand this. Real dentists will go to college for many years to become a fully certified dentist.

The reason is because they have to make important decisions and diagnostics for their patients. To become a dental hygienist, you still need to know a lot about teeth. We are projected to return to our new building in the Fall of August Attending an application workshop is mandatory for applying to the program. The workshop will cover information on prerequisites, admission criteria, and how to complete and submit the application. A Cerritos College student ID number is required to register for a workshop and to apply to the Dental Hygiene program.

Before the workshop download the application from the Dental Hygiene website and have copies of your transcripts and Advanced Placement scores if applicable available. You will need these items to complete your application during the workshop.

On the day of your assigned workshop please make sure your first and last name appear on your screen on the device you are using as that is what we will use to record attendance which is mandatory to apply to the program.

Make sure to sign in on time as the meeting will be locked 10 minutes after the start of the session. Phone: Emergency: Campus Police. Campus will be closed on Monday, Jan.
